Let’s look at how to read a COA.

First things first, what is a COA?
“COA” is short for Certificate of Analysis: the lab results of scientific testing done on each and every batch of the Fountain of Health product line. You’ll see that these lab tests were completed for Fountain of Health, right here in Colorado.

Botanacor and ACS Labs conduct our analysis as accredited ISO 17025 facilities in the fields of biological and chemical testing.

They assign a Test ID, a unique identifier for each test; and the test method used to perform the analysis. We assign a Sample Name and Batch ID for internal tracking and traceability of ingredients through the supply chain.

The Reported Date shows when the lab’s quality assurance department reviews the data and issues the COA to Fountain of Health.

The Type of Sample provided is shown, as well as the Test selected for analysis. In this case, it is the Potency test. There are also tests for Terpenes, Microbial Contaminants, Residual Solvents, Pesticides, Heavy Metals, and Mycotoxins – and we utilize every test on every batch.

On this Potency test, the next thing you’ll notice is a donut chart. Inside the chart will be the Total Cannabinoids tested. The bar chart below displays CBD and CBDa, as well as their relation to the amount of delta 9 THC and THCa within those total cannabinoids.

A further breakdown of 15 cannabinoids can then be found in the Compound list to the right of the donut chart. For each cannabinoid, you see the LOQ Percentage, which stands for Limit of Quantitation. That is the lowest amount the lab can accurately quantitate for each analyte. LOQ is determined by the weight of the sample and the dilution factor used in the samples analysis. All that science talk means: It is the lowest amount of a cannabinoid that can be seen before it is untraceable.

The Result Percentage is the percentage of each cannabinoid found in your bottle, while the Result in milligrams per gram lists the weight of those results.

Total Cannabinoids reports the theoretical or “potential” amount of CBD and THC accounting for the decarboxylation of THCa and CBDa. That is to say, the amount your body may convert from the acid form to the non-acid form of the cannabinoid, such as CBDa to CBD

Then, we have the dated signatures of the chemist and quality assurance personnel for issuance of the certificate to Fountain of Health.
